DUBOIS - As the region continues to experience frigid temperatures, auto shop owners in Clearfield County said it’s keeping their businesses busy.
Carney Cataldo, owner of Cataldo’s Collision in DuBois, said he is seeing more fender bender crashes because of icy roads.
“Between Christmas and New Year’s, we had 55 wrecked cars on site and a lot more are scheduled to come in,” Cataldo said.
Cataldo said he gets an increase in customers due to repairing cars from crashes on Interstate 80.
Carlson Auto Repair in DuBois is also seeing a steady stream of customers because of the cold.
Owner Mike Carlson said he changed at least 18 sets of winter tires in one day.
“Right now at the moment, we’re changing a lot of batteries, wiper blades, tires and a lot of oil changes,” Carlson said.
Both Carlson and Cataldo said an increase in customers also means a longer wait time.
