Lincoln Caverns restarts tours, with a few changes

Lincoln Caverns in Huntingdon County is set to reopen again.

Owners say the caverns lost a lot of business during the mandated closures caused by the spread of COVID-19.

Now, they're offering cave tours, while still following the current social distancing guidelines.

Masks are required, and will be provided, along with gloves.

There will also be a full sanitation protocol in place within the cave and the gift shop.

Staff at the caverns say they hope to have all their services back as soon as possible.

“We’re going to work with things as we go, but we want to make it’s where you don’t even notice these changes. That sounds funny to say, but our goal is that you have a good experience. You still get everything that you normally would in the cave, but you don’t, in any way, feel like you’re doing something dangerous. That is our goal,” said Mike Leonard, leading tour guide.

Group size for tours will be monitored, with no more than 10 people per group.

Tours are available throughout the day, but they’re spaced out in 30-minute intervals, to allow for separation.
