Two Altoona men are facing charges after they allegedly caused more than $70,000 in damage at Lakemont Park.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, Caleb Crust and Nicholas Dubbs, both 23 years old, entered the park just after 1:30 a.m. Oct. 28.

Once inside, the two drove go-karts through the park, damaging the vehicles, a basketball court and a display, according to the affidavit.

Once police arrived at the scene, Crust and Dubbs allegedly fled on foot.

Damage at the park is estimated at $70,088, but, police note, the sum could be higher and added to restitution costs.

Crust and Dubbs have each been charged with third-degree felony criminal trespass, third-degree felony criminal mischief, second-degree misdemeanor evading arrest and a summary offense.

Both men were arrested earlier in the week and are being held in the Blair County Prison.
